Hello Friends,

We trust this letter finds you well and experiencing God`s many blessings.  It hardly seems possible that we have enjoyed 13 concerts already in this 2010 concert season.  Each concert has been a blessing to so many, including a lot of first time visitors to the Gospel Barn.  We hope they have felt welcome and enjoyed their visit.

Having already enjoyed these concerts is a reminder and even a promise of greater times ahead through the remainder of this concert season.  Fourth of July weekend is upon us and our feature group for July 3rd is Tribute Quartet.  This fabulous men`s quartet has become one of our many favorites, featuring superb four part harmony, entertaining personalities and the tremendous piano playing of Josh Singletary.  This concert will be a great addition to your Fourth of July weekend activities and we should even be finished in time for you to get to a local fireworks display in Hillsdale or somewhere nearby.

A new quartet that we have been looking to schedule for a couple of years is finally headed to Hillsdale.  Spoken 4 Quartet is coming our way from Missouri and we are really excited in anticipation of a great concert.  This will certainly be quartet gospel music at its finest.  Be sure to come out and welcome these gentlemen to the “barn.”

Tickets are available for the next double concert event on July 24th.  The feature group for that day is Triumphant Quartet from Tennessee.  At the 2009 National Quartet Convention, Triumphant Quartet received the award for Favorite Gospel Quartet as gospel music fans from all over the country voted for their favorite artists.  Their bass singer, Eric Bennett, was voted Favorite Bass and their piano player, Jeff Stice, was voted Favorite Musician.  We think you will understand why they have received this recognition when you see them here at the barn for two great concerts.   You will be blessed by their desire and focus they place on lifting up the name of Jesus to encourage their fellow man.  Tickets are $12 each for 2 pm and 7 pm and are available at our website:  www.gospelbarn.com or by calling 1-800-625-5988.

Tickets are also available now for our favorite comedian, musician, singer, songwriter, banjo, guitar, harmonica player and all around good guy, Tim Lovelace.  Tim is returning to the Gospel Barn again for two concerts on August 14th.  Tim is a gifted musician, singer and storyteller that really brings a lot of joy and laughter to any audience.  Tickets are $6.00 each for 2 pm or 7 pm at our website or by calling 1-800-625-5988.

Building Expansion Update:

Within the last few weeks we have cleared and expanded the parking area to better facilitate car and pedestrian traffic during and following construction.  We have also installed drain tile to help alleviate concerns of water brought on by the large amount of rain we have received this year.  Other plans have progressed as we have settled on a general contractor and submitted plans to the local building department for review.  If all continues to go well, we hope to break ground within the next 2-3 weeks.  Please continue to consider this ministry and these plans in your prayers.  There is much work to be done and we are excited to begin the actual construction phase.  This proposed addition will add approximately 140 seats to the east end of the current auditorium.  We will also make changes to better accommodate those who are handicapped or wheel chair bound.  An expansion of the stage area for enhanced viewing by the audience and an increased capacity for air conditioning are also part of the proposed plan.  This expansion will require a fire suppression sprinkler system, fire alarm and improved emergency lighting.  This added room for seating is really needed as we have already had to turn people away for lack of room.  We are ready and prepared to move forward with this expansion to help make our facility safer, more comfortable and better designed to handle the large crowds we have been experiencing.

We will need your help to make this happen.   We are so thankful that over $100,000 has been given towards this project.  This will allow for the completion of the construction phase, which will include:  foundation, concrete, exterior walls and roof, interior framing, floors and insulation, along with a new roof on the lobby.  Estimates indicate that we will need to raise an additional $100,000 to complete the project, which includes:  upgraded electrical service, fire suppression system and increased air conditioning in auditorium and lobby.  This can be done with God`s help and everyone doing what they can as they are led to help.  If over the course of the next six to eight months we can raise these needed funds, this expansion could very likely be ready for the 2011 concert season.  In God`s time and infinite wisdom, this will be a reality and continuing example of His blessings upon the work here.

We will continue striving to present the uplifting and encouraging message of the gospel in Christ through great music.  God is working and using all involved within this ministry as well as the visiting singing groups to make a difference in the lives of people.  We are eager and encouraged to move forward with the calling that has been with this ministry since 1974….”to spread the gospel in song.”

To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Hath Done,

Your Gospel Barn family
